Canopy Tours by EBL

Canopy Tours (a.k.a. Zip Line Tours) have been present in the United States since 2002. This growing adventure experience became popular in Costa Rica during the mid to late 1990's after enjoying widespread popularity as single zip lines on ropes challenge course in the United States since the mid 1960's. After the popular movie Medicine Man staring Sean Connery hit movie theaters in 1992, the concept of exploring the canopy of the tree tops utilizing climbing ropes, harnesses, and pulleys sparked the interest of adventure travelers around the world. Today, this growing ecology based adventure travel industry is bursting at the seams as more and more tours pop up. Experience Based Learning, (EBL) is proud to have played a predominate role in the expansion of canopy / zip line tours in the United States since the first installed Maui Hawaii course in 2002. No other builder has installed, designed, or operate more locations than EBL.

After enjoying the installation and training of courses for private businesses, Experience Based Learning (EBL) is pleased to bring you canopy tours and adventure experiences of our own design and management structure via our operation, partnerships, and affiliate courses! In addition to being the premier and original installer of canopy tours in the United States, we now offer regional adventure experiences for those adventure seekers who may not be able to get away and visit our courses in Hawaii or Alaska. EBL has played a direct role in the growth, promotion, and development of industry safety standards over the past six years. After many installations and numerous consulting projects, EBL continues to be the leader with our unique engineered designs, custom designed safety equipment focusing on industry fall protection standards by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards, and safer operation procedures that have developed over a million plus safe zip experiences.

EBL is an Accredited Vendor with the Professional Ropes Course Association and is listed as a Qualified Canopy Tour Professional. EBL is the first and only company presently in the United States to have achieved this status through a stringent peer review process and site critique of our practices. The PRCA is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Developer (ASD) and EBL serves on the PRCA standards writing group for this organization.
